Phase 02 — Build in milestones
We build in milestones with weekly demos, async updates, and incremental releases — so you always know what's shipped, what's next, and what's at risk.
The problem
Most builds slip because nobody can see the work until it's late. Engagement is opaque, decisions get deferred, and integration surprises ambush the team in the last sprint.
The approach
We deliver in clear milestones, demo every week against acceptance criteria, ship incremental releases to staging, and surface risks early — so course corrections happen before they hurt.
What we deliver
Who this is for
- Stakeholders allergic to opaque, late-stage surprises
- Operations leaders responsible for cutover success
- Founders needing visibility for boards / investors
- Teams used to in-house engineering cadence
Example engagements
- 8-week operations platform build with 6 demoed milestones
- 12-week SaaS MVP build with weekly investor-ready demos
- Phased dashboard rollout shipped one screen at a time
- Integration build with each system landed and tested separately
How we run the build phase
Milestone-based delivery with weekly demos, async status, and staged releases.
Milestone kickoff
Confirm scope, acceptance criteria, and demo cadence.
1 daysIterate per milestone
Build, demo, ship to staging, log decisions, course-correct.
7 weeksAcceptance & sign-off
Sign off the milestone against acceptance criteria; close billing for that block.
3 daysTimeline & budget
Typical timeline
Build phase length depends on engagement scope — most run 6–16 weeks of active build.
Typical budget
Build is milestone-priced against the plan produced in discovery, with billing tied to acceptance.
Frequently asked questions
How are demos run?
Weekly, 30–45 minutes, live software (not slides). We walk through what was shipped against the milestone plan, surface decisions, and align on what's next.
What happens if scope changes mid-build?
Changes are normal. We re-cost the affected milestone and adjust the plan. Bigger changes get a change-order so nothing is ambiguous.
Do you do test coverage?
We test critical paths and integrations. Full unit coverage on everything isn't always cost-justified — we focus on the surfaces that matter.
Can we see code mid-build?
Yes — clients get access to the repo from kickoff, and staging deploys for every release.
