A storefront identity for Hammersmith Recording Studio
A brand identity for a recording studio — a mark and visual system confident enough to live on a storefront, not just a screen.

About the project
What we built
Hammersmith Recording Studio needed an identity that worked where studios actually win clients: on the street, on the door, and in the first impression a musician forms before they've heard a single monitor.
The mark is a script H drawn as a single continuous line, looping at the base into a form that reads as both a letter and a treble clef — the instrument implied rather than illustrated. Set in warm orange against cream, it carries analogue warmth without tipping into vintage pastiche, which is the line a studio brand has to walk: enough character to feel like a room where records get made, enough restraint to sit behind other people's music.
It was designed first for glass. Applied to the studio door it holds against a busy reflected street and the equipment visible behind it — a genuinely hostile background, and the one every walk-in sees first.
From there the system extends across physical and digital applications — exterior signage, interior wayfinding, merchandise, and the studio's web presence — so the brand reads consistently whether you walk past the building or land on the site.
