A voting platform for The Game Awards
The site behind gaming's biggest night — countdown, nominees, and a fan vote that has to hold up when millions arrive at once.

About the project
What we built
The Game Awards is a global live broadcast, and its site carries two jobs at once. Before the show it is the campaign — the countdown, the nominee reveal, the news feed driving anticipation. During it, it is a live destination for an audience arriving all at the same moment.
We built it as a custom WordPress theme, art-directed to the show's identity: deep navy, the teal blade mark, and starfield-and-terrain artwork that turns a marketing page into something closer to a title screen.
The centrepiece is fan voting. Rather than a form, each category is presented as a nominee card you move through one at a time — key art at full bleed, previous and next nominees flanking it, and a running counter so a voter always knows how far through the ballot they are. Voting spans a dozen categories, so the interface had to make a long ballot feel short.
Behind it sits the part nobody sees: accounts, one-vote-per-category integrity, and a publishing model that lets the team post nominees, news, and announcements as the campaign unfolds without touching a developer.
